Donald Bennet, Education
Director
Donald has worked intensively in
London and internationally as a private maths tutor following a
maths degree at Clare College Cambridge (2007). His focus is
constantly to meet every client's specific needs which range from
simply a confidence boost to maximum success in exams and
interviews. These aims are met by tackling confidence, skills and
knowledge issues in a wide variety of methods that Donald tailors
to individual students. This personalisation of the service is
something that Donald particularly loves. Donald specializes in
11+, A-Level and Oxbridge entrance though enjoys tutoring GCSE and
university courses. Donald always shares his passion for maths
problem solving with students and invariably finds students warm to
the subject rapidly, even those who initially claim they 'are
hopeless at maths'. Donald has been highly sought world-wide since
being listed as a 2011 'supertutor' in The Independent. He works
solely for Bright Young Things, enjoying collaborations on their
highly focussed delivery of the best possible educational support
to students throughout the world.
Donald is regularly employed to
make initial assessments of a student's mathematical ability and to
advise on key areas for improvement, predicted grades and
appropriate applications to both schools and universities. He
provides intensive booster-sessions in school holidays for GCSE and
A-Level. At student's request these often last for 4 hours or
longer non-stop. Removing the elements of mystery from Oxbridge
maths applications is something Donald is committed to. Preparing
for the entrance exams and interviews can be a daunting prospect so
Donald works hard to help his students to confidently show
themselves at their finest.
Donald's teaching career began in
2003 and a wealth of vital experience has grown since.
Professionally he has worked in such diverse areas as investment
banking and as a singer, though he now combines private tuition
only with select concerts as a cellist, gambist and lironist mainly
through his ensemble Poeticall Musicke.
